Stranger Places was an installation performance which wove soundscape, automata and delicately beautiful mechanics to create a world inspired by the myths and magic of winter and the Victorian surroundings of Saltwell Park.
The audience are invited to follow the souls of the children lost to winter as they journey to find an oasis of maternal warmth in the icy underworld. Meet Frau Holle, the grandmother of the underworld as she knits a giant blanket which takes us through the transformation from winter to spring and death to life.
The installation was part of the Enchanted Parks 08 event which ran for every evening for two weeks and included a piece by Yoko Ono.
