Restless Tides
Left Luggage Theatre

Once desolate marshland, now financial power house, the Isle of Dogs has a vibrant and tumultuous past. Restless Tides draws on the real and imagined stories of this Island community and conjures the lives, loves and hardships of this unique part of London.

The audience join Thomas Carter, the ship's figurehead carver, who like Pygmalion, falls in love with his creation, Celeste and pursues her through the centuries. We call on the mercurial Canton Kitty's boarding house to partake of some forbidden pleasures, visit the avaricious pawnbroker's shop where sentimental value is prized above all else and witness the song-bird competition in an East End pub.

Performed at The Space, Isle of Dogs, London as part of the Enterprise 08 Festival 18th - 20th March 2008.
